Business Development Executive

Due to expansion a great opportunity has arisen to positively contribute to gaining business by planning and developing new commercial insurance opportunities in a way that supports my client’s business objectives.  Effectively building relationships with potential customers and working positively with colleagues to successfully convert leads into long-term customer relationships.

This is a role that requires significant time out of the office with potential clients.

Duties & Responsibilities      

Proactive contribution to the development and delivery of an effective plan for identifying, targeting and converting appropriate new business leads into long-term customer relationships

Identifying and initiating cross-selling opportunities to existing clients including introducing financial services products.

Researching, designing and implementing effective methods of communication to generate sales from new and existing clients including email/written, telephone, social media, face-to-face, events etc.

Represent my client positively at trade events/shows and networking opportunities within the commercial sector, utilising opportunities to successfully generate new business leads.

Effectively build relationships with prospective clients to ensure a good pipeline of business for quotations.

Regularly review client data to ensure records are accurate and up to date.

Consistently provide excellent levels of customer service in all interactions with potential and existing customers, delivering on promises, meeting their needs and exceeding expectations.

Always demonstrate high values of trust and integrity, acting as a positive role model in line with the values and ethos of my client.

Build and maintain effective working relationships within the team and all relevant key contacts.

Ensure all relevant activities are approved and carried out in a way which complies with relevant external legislation and regulation.

Deliver ad-hoc projects and/or other duties as required, to support the delivery of business strategy and enhance customer experience.

This role will suit you if you’re hardworking and motivated to succeed.

Proven track record in highly driven and ambitious targeted business development and/or sales role.

Proven track record in business planning/ developing contact strategies.

Good understanding of business structures and commerciality.

Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills, including networking skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Good IT skills especially Microsoft Office, CRM, social media platforms

Good maths and problem-solving skills

Able to manage own workload and able to work effectively under pressure

Great team working and ability to build effective relationships through positive behaviours, honesty and integrity.

Focus on continuous improvement, able to use own initiative

Demonstrate commitment to quality and compliance with procedures/regulations using due care, skill and diligence

Desire to be the best, openness to personal development, learning new skills

Experience managing a sales pipeline.

Full driving licence and use of own car, with mileage allowance, however, this could be open to discussion depending on the individual.

Full training provided (which may include additional travel and staying away from home to attend training courses.

Remuneration etc.

You have the opportunity to work from a base office, some home-based work will also be considered.

Annual salary in line with experience, circa 35 – 60k plus generous sales incentive/ bonus

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Monday – Friday 09.00 – 17.00

Occasional weekends/public holidays to support events.
