Position Summary

My client are looking for two Regional Development Managers, one to cover Europe, Russia and CIS, the other to cover the rest of the world.  The Regional Development Managers will lead a team to develop and build on new and existing business opportunities in Europe, Russia and CIS region, and the rest of the world. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed your own individual quarterly and annual sales targets and ensure the team achieve their individual and team targets.
  • Prepare and provide accurate sales forecasts, analyses and activity reports for the region ensuring successful forecast management.
  • Maintain regular direct contact with existing customers and prospects and ensure team members do the same.
  • Respond to leads generated from marketing efforts as well as cultivating self-generated prospects, encouraging team members to do the same.
  • Display and demonstrate products/services to existing and potential customers in an effective manner.
  • Promote and expand the knowledge of products/services within the region.
  • Maintain relationships with company members in partnership with Account Managers.
  • Manage established sales processes, drive compliance and further professionalise the regional team while developing a culture of continued process improvement and sales excellence. 
  • Motivate and mentor team members, train new sales people and conduct performance management reviews including development planning.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies, implement regional marketing and sales (action) plans that support the goals and objectives of the business, and produce long-term growth and success.
  • Maintain, develop and strengthen an excellent collaboration with the other members of the sales team and other groups in the company such as Marketing, Membership and PR.  

  Skills/Experience:

Essential

  • Extensive experience working in a sales force environment for an Scientific, Technical and Medical publisher.  
  • Experience of international sales
  • Graduate calibre
  • Good PC skills and a high level of organisation are required.

Desirable

  • Experience of managing a team.
