My client, a dynamic publishing and media company based in central London are looking for an Account Manager to join their team.
My client produces an events listings service that is second to none, and is expanding the business into new sectors therefore looking for someone with the capacity to help the business grow commercially.
The ideal candidate will be a sales individual who is self-motivated with a track record in B2B sales. Your strengths will be to establish, develop and maintain long-term relationships with potential customers. It is a busy role for which you will have the ability to conduct yourself in a highly professional manner over the phone in order to generate interest and to develop sales opportunities as well as being committed to the provision of excellent service.
Job Description
Selling B2B data licences or web and mobile services to new media companies, publishers, national and local press, mobile services, tourism and local authorities. You will be responsible for managing new business, including creating and managing a database of prospective and existing customers, running and managing telesales, managing the transition of leads through the pitch process, tracking industry issues that are relevant to customers, managing the sales pipeline and reporting on sales targets.
Sales
• Hitting targets for new sales and responsibility for existing accounts
• Report sales activity to Managing Director on a weekly basis
• Prepare a detailed monthly report for inclusion in the company report
• Devise ways to continually increase sales and productivity
• Research new leads and develop sales opportunities through cold calling
• Attend client meetings and trade exhibitions
• Preparing and delivering pitches to closing deals
Planning
• Assist in developing sales strategy and quarterly sales plans, setting commercial targets for the Sales Department.
• Liaise closely with colleagues in Editorial, Product Development and Technical Departments.
Experience/Qualifications required:
• Degree or equivalent level of education.
• Extensive sales experience necessary in B2B.
• Knowledge of the media, mobile and digital market place or knowledge of public authority and tourism bodies.
• Demonstrable proof of hitting and exceeding sales targets.
• Data licensing knowledge and existing contacts in the industry a strong advantage.
Although my client are looking for an experienced new sales and account manager, they will consider less experienced individuals with the drive and determination to succeed.
Salary £26,000 - 30,000 depending on experience.
Plus commission.
