My client, a leading global business media company who specialise in events, research and online and print publishing are looking for a Sales Executive to join one of their well established departments.
The candidate will be working on a balanced portfolio of digital, event and print journal brands that communicate to and educate a wide range of Healthcare Professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Selling recruitment and classified advertising space via telephone contact in order to reach revenue targets and maximise market share through:
• Cold calling new / lapsed clients
• Maintaining and building relationships with existing clients
• Canvassing from competitor journals and relevant on-line jobs boards
• Maximising business from in-coming calls both print and on-line
• Eventual responsibility for on-line recruitment portal
Key Functions:
1. Sales Activity
a) Ensure acceptable levels of sales activity are consistently maintained.
b) Ensure all competitor leads are sourced and chased.
c) Attempt at all times when possible / relevant to maximise the revenue from each sale through: Colour sales, upsizing, repeat advertisements, on-line sales and any other areas that can potentially make additional revenue.
d) Ensure your product knowledge, and that of the competition is accurate and kept up to date at all times.
2. Administration / Production
a) Responsible for closing the recruitment and classified section each week.
b) Ensure the internal contact management and booking system is used for logging information from sales calls and that the system is kept clean and up to date.
c) Ensure sales ledgers and flat plans are kept accurate.
d) Ensure your orders contain accurate information, particularly address details, rate information and agency discounts.
e) Ensuring production instructions are accurate and all errors are logged and followed up.
f) Manage the recruitment and classified pages to ensure proofs are sent out where relevant.
3. Other
a) Consider and suggest any new ideas and systems for maximising revenues and streamlining procedures.
b) Liaise when necessary with production, sales support, accounts, marketing, editorial and display.
c) Where possible, handle and resolve client complaints / problems.
d) Ensure you attend all training and coaching sessions
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six months B2B telesales experience, preferably within the publishing Industry. A tenacious, self motivated and professional approach is required, as well as excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and the ability to use initiative.
Salary to £22,000 depending on experience (min 6 months telesales)
Commission based on 30% of basic salary, plus bens.
